TACLOBAN CITY - Towns with products and materials under the One Town One Product program headed by the Department of Trade and Industry are urged to market their goods and take the advantage of more number of patrons during the weeklong Palarong Pambansa.

This was the call made by Gov. Carlos Jericho Petilla during his visit to Brgy. Arado, Burauen, Leyte - the same barangay that produces the "bokayo", a local sweet made from coconut.

TACLOBAN CITY – A committee would be set up by the provincial government of Leyte that would handle the management and maintenance of the newly rehabilitated Leyte Sports Development Center.

This after the fanfare and sports activities in Leyte ’s hosting of the Palarong Pambansa from April 27 to May 2, Gov. Carlos Jericho Petilla said.

The governor who visited the site prior to the EVRAA opening last March 29 said that whatever the province has invested on the area is something that would stay at least ten years into the future and even more, if properly maintained.

He mentioned that rehabilitating the province-owned sports center is not seen only as far as the Palaro hosting.

“We actually have a plan for the Grandstand even before. But what a better opportunity to repair it with the hosting of a big event such as Palaro,” Gov. Petilla disclosed.
