The Task Force on School Sports (TFSS) of the Department of Education (DepEd) shall conduct the National Screening and Accreditation Training-Seminar on  10 - 14 November 2009 at Teachers Camp, Baguio City.

Based on DepEd Memorandum 488, S. 2008, dated 20 October 2008, the  objectives of the seminar are to: 1) update the participants on the revised/updated guidelines on screening and accreditation of athletes; 2) provide the participants a uniform interpretation and application of the guidelines on screening and accreditation of athletes; and c) instill the values of honesty and cooperation.

The Philippine Professional Dance Sport Association Inc. will conduct the 3rd PPDSA-AATD-NDL-WCDF World Open Ballroom Dance Teacher Training and Certification Congress/Tournament and 1st Mayor Robert C. Eusebio Cup - WCDF World Open Dance Tournament with the theme "Upgrading Ballroom Dance Teacher Competencies Through Practical and Theoretical Research and Development" on Novevmebr 22- 23, 2008 at Pasig Sports Center, Pasig City.

He said, it is not every year that a province gets the chance to host such a big national event, so the host province should present its best to encourage more similar activities in the future.

In preparation for the big national summer games next year, the provincial government has set P50 million in fund that would be used for rehabilitation works on the Leyte Sports Development Center.
